Liljebergs Morpho Deidamia

Morpho deidamia is a butterfly from the subfamily Satyrinae

The upper side of the wings shows a broad band of blue reflection colors, while the lower side shows a brown spot pattern with eye-shaped structures. The color differences between upper and lower wings cause confusion with possible attackers. The butterfly has a wingspan between 100 and 120 millimeters.

This species of butterfly is found in the rain forests of northern South America, in particular from Guyana to the Amazon basin along forest edges and river banks.
